I'm sure many people like me want their BDSM accessories to look less like medieval dungeon pieces and more like sexy, classy toys to enjoy. The Violet Boudoir collection caught my eye for this very reason - and then surprised me with not only the style, but the attention to detail and quality of this gag.

This is a D-ring gag featuring a breathable ball and purple satin (almost embroidered) design. Even at first glance, you can see that it means business: it is a sturdy, well-made piece of equipment, worlds away from those flimsy gags you find in beginner kits.

What delighted me about this gag is the attention to detail. The inside is lined with velvet - a beautiful, and very careful touch, making sure to leave no rough marks or scratches on your partner. The soft faux leather attachments and rings bring kink whilst ensuring that this gag isn't going to get uncomfortable - at least before you want it to be.

When I first used it, I found that it was quite stiff to use the d ring connection - but I can't exactly complain about an accessory being so obviously sturdy and well made.

For such a low price, I am over the moon. It looks like a luxury brand accessory. If you're looking for a gag that will last, work with light and hard play, and is just as beautiful as it is practical - don't hesitate to add to your basket.

Now excuse me - I'm off to buy the rest of the collection.

As a relative newbie to the world of gags, I was eager to try this item as the only previous experience I had was with a cheap piece of kit that came with an uncomfortable clasp and a funny taste to it.

Thankfully, this item could not have been further away from that bad experience and reinvigorated my interest in exploring further.

First impression is that this is a nicely made toy that will brighten up everyone's collection. The metallic purple design around the outside of the strap is really interesting and combined with the velvet inside, helps softens what can be an intimidating item to new users.

The stitching is tight and holds the matching rings tightly in place while the ball itself is manageable and mostly comfortable.

I found the D-ring that is used to tighten the strap a little fiddly, particularly for solo use though after a few uses, this did become easier to use. On first use, I found the looseness of the faux-leather running through the hard plastic ball could cause skin to trap in between. It wasn't exactly painful but also probably not the kind of uncomfortable experience I was hoping to receive when using the gag.

At no point during use did using the ball gag feel overwhelming and the quality and attention put into the design raises it above cheaper, tackier looking items that can be found. Overall, a very good way to introduce gags into your repertoire that won't break the bank!
