As soon as you get the basque out of its packaging. You can tell immediately the quality of the material is of high standard.

The basque feels absolutely amazing. I could not wait to get into this and surprise my hubby. The basque is made up of a fishnet mesh and lace flower pattern.

The lace cups can be unhooked at the apexes of the bra to reveal your breasts, allowing easy access. The front of the basque has a lace flower pattern running from the bust all the way to the crotch. The neck has a adjustable halterneck, which ties meaning getting the right fit is easy. The back of the basque has a criss-cross strap which sits over your bum and is accompanied by 4 suspender straps allowing you to add to the look with your best stockings. To complete the set it also comes with a matching mesh G-string.

The basque is a lovely red colour. The basque folds neatly into a small package, making this super easy to store and would easily pack into any small bag for your nights away.

Size:

I am a size 22 and have a large bust. I am always worried that there is no support in the bust area to support me. However, I was fine with this basque. It held me in place perfectly fine. The material has some stretch to it, which always helps with the fit.

I am roughly 5 foot 2 and often have issues with the length of items. Happily no issues in that department. The length and fit are great. The contoured lace panel helps to create an hourglass shape figure.

Caution:

Being made up of mesh and lace fabric, it can be easy to catch the material and possibly rip it, so take caution with your nails.

Cleaning after use:

Simply hand wash cold and hang on the line to dry. And you will be good.

Verdict:

Lovehoney truly keep raising the bar with the ranges of outfits and toys they bring out. They have never let us down yet.

In common with other Lovehoney brand underwear this felt well made and of good quality. I decided to surprise by husband by wearing this basque for a lockdown date night at home.

When I put this on I immediately felt comfortable and sexy because it just fitted all my curves and drew attention to all right places. I'm a C cup and the bra fitted well. I do think it would take a larger cup size as well. My husband was particularly excited by the drop cups which added a little extra something to the evening.

The halterneck did make it little more difficult to match with an outfit so I could hide what I was wearing underneath. The bow on the halterneck was bulky and difficult to conceal.

As a larger lady I'm not a fan of a G-string with a low rise at the front. Lovehoney can be a bit hit and miss in this area with some G-strings being spot on with good coverage at the front.

I didn't wear this with stockings and found it rolled up at times. I imagine wearing stockings would stop this from happening. When I get another opportunity I'll add a short review.

If I'm honest I found the pink a little too bright for my liking. This also comes in black and I think I would get away way with wearing that under a outfit for a sexy night out.

I love basques but hate hook and eye fastenings, so I really appreciate that this one has the adjustable strap on the back as it means you can get it on and off easily, either by undoing the hook or just by having the slider a little looser.

The material itself is pretty stretchy. I am a size 18/20 and the queen size fits me really well. The thong fits well too, although it isn't really much to write home about. The material is pretty soft and so comfortable to wear. It feels well made and of a good quality. The strapping is all varying degrees of elastic but is definitely up to the job of keeping everything where it should be.

There is no boning or anything to keep the shape. This isn't a big problem for me but if you are looking for something very structured, this isn't it. However, that does mean it is more comfortable to move around it and even sleep in.

The only real issue I have with the basque is the bra cups. Thanks to the halter neck, it is really easy to tie it up to get the support you want and for the underwire to be sitting where you need it. However, the lace cups themselves just aren't quite big enough for my boobs. I have E cup boobs and they tend to go wherever they want so I do find myself falling out of the sides triangle. Tucking myself in just makes them look squashed (and still fall out of the sides at the same time). If you have smaller boobs than mine and/or they sit where they are supposed to without too much help, then this would probably be a great basque for you.

I really do love the concept of being able to open the cups, and I will say that the cups do feel secure and not like they are going to pop open at any minute. Although when you do put the lace down, it does remind me a little of a doily.

Overall, this is a really good piece of lingerie; it is easy to put on, comfortable to wear, a great colour and two awesome ways to reveal your boobs (either by undoing the cups or simply untying the halterneck) but, for me, the cups are just too small. If I do wear this is in the bedroom, I think I may just start with the cups opens.
